Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis announced lower taxes for the middle class by 2027, speaking at the Council of Ministers while making extensive reference to the opposition.
The new budget was the "protagonist" of today's cabinet, which Mitsotakis said was an answer to accuracy. He called it a one-way street to increase the income of citizens, while he said that for accuracy it would be compensated by purchasing power.
The Prime Minister said that the new budget is a response to accuracy, describing the increase in citizens' income as a one-way street, while for accuracy he said that it will be compensated with purchasing power.
He stressed that it is "the first of the three steps that lead us to the goals we have set for 2027: by the end of the four-year period to find Greece with even less taxes, primarily for the middle class, with the average wage at 1,500 euros and the minimum wage at 950 euros."
Furthermore, he added that "this year, however, the budget has another feature, as prices around the world and in Greece have been rising cumulatively for three years. This year's budget responds to the accuracy by doubly supporting income, reducing household and business burdens on the one hand and increasing wages on the other, which of course takes some time until the balance is restored," he said.
