The Athens Stock Exchange starts the last session of the week and of November without any mood for "big things," with selective positioning remaining the main feature.
Somehow, the Greek market remains in the vicinity of the psychological limits of 1,400 points, not having the possibility to approach this year's highs of May, when the General Index had exceeded 1,500 points (a 13-year high).
With Wall Street at the rhythm of... Thanksgiving, moreover, investor interest has dampened considerably, despite the fact that yesterday's transfer of 70% of Terna Energy to Masdar technically "masked" the picture.
Specifically, in the 5th session of the week, the General Index declined marginally by 0.10% to 1,402.42 points, losing about 1.5 points compared to Thursday's close (1,403.83 points).
The arc of daily fluctuations extends over four points (from 1,401.81 to 1,406.43 points), with a turnover of 4 million euros, of which 2.6 million euros are pre-agreed packages.
The banking index extends the weakness picture of recent weeks, which has affected the whole market, as it is currently at -0.12% and 1,161 points, 14 percentage points away from this year's "peaks.".
Alpha's share is limited to -0.24% and 1.476 euros, Eurobank's share is almost unchanged at 2.00 euros, NBG is trading at +0.15% and 6.82 euros, while Piraeus' share is up +0.49% and 3.509 euros.
In the high-cap index (-0.05% and 3,384 points), AIA's share puts a brake on the upward movement and retreats by almost 1%, remaining below the 8.2 euro listing price. Aegean, Ellaktor, and OPAP each lose 0.5%. On the opposite side, Motor Oil shares are trying to approach the 20-euro mark. GEK Terna's shares, meanwhile, continue to climb to 24-year highs, with 9-month earnings and the transfer of the majority stake in TENERG leading to 18.6 euros.
As for the mid-cap index (-0.01% and 2,253 points), Intralot's shares stand out negatively at -1% and 0.9 euros, due to the lower 9-month financial performance. PPA and Optima are retreating around 0.5%. In contrast, AVAX shares expand +1.4% and EUR 1.45, while Dimand, Intrakat, and Trade Estates rise by up to 0.7%.
Overall on the stock exchange board, 40 stocks move up, 35 stocks decline, while nine stocks remain unchanged. The market capitalisation stands at EUR 98.7 billion.
