The Athens Stock Exchange is heading towards the best session of the last four months, while the banking rally is taking the General Index up to 1,420 points.
With the Prime Minister from the London investment conference putting a definitive end to the scenarios about the taxation of this year's bank profits, the Greek market is receiving valuable "fuel," leaving behind the volatility of the previous weeks.
However, it is clear that follow-through will also be required on the part of buyers, as attractive valuations warrant further upside for many listed companies, which are still not satisfied with their "poor" returns through 2024.
Specifically, in the first session of December, the General Index is up an impressive 1.93% to 1,420.33 points, gaining almost 27 points compared to Friday's close (1,393.49 points).
The arc of daily fluctuations extends to 22 points (from 1,399.30 to 1,421.25 points), with a turnover of 62 million euros, of which 12.8 million euros are pre-agreed packages.
Eurobank's share climbs +5.50% and 2.11 euros, Alpha's share follows at +4.26% and 1.529 euros, Piraeus' share trades +3.87% and 3.599 euros, while G's share rises +3.66% and 6.91 euros.
In the high capitalization index (+2.51% and 3,441 points), apart from banks, Metlen, Cenergy, Helleniq Energy, Viohalco, PPC, and Motor Oil shares also show gains of more than +2%. In fact, the latter returns above 20 euros for the first time since October 29. Beyond that, shares of OTE, Hellaktor, ELVALHALKOR, Jumbo and Coca-Cola expand by more than 1%, with Titan Cement's shares up +1.8% and heading towards a new all-time high (EUR 39.4). On the opposite side, Lamda's shares are unchanged at EUR 7.1, while Terna Energy's shares lose 0.1%.
As for the mid-cap index (+0.38% and 2,254 points), the shares of HEXAE stand out positively at +1.3% and 4.40 euros, amid expectations for the results of the London Stock Exchange conference, which takes place today and tomorrow with the blessing of Morgan Stanley. At the same time, shares of Intracom, ABAX, Profile and Lavipharm are up 1% to 2%. On the other hand, Intrakat's shares are limited to -0.8%, or 4.8 euros.
