On Thursday 28/11, after five years of waiting, the technical company and the Hellenic Republic Asset Development Fund signed a contract to begin work at Chios Marina.

With the completion of permits and studies, the project is now entering the implementation phase. Representatives of the central and local administration attended the opening ceremony, confirming their commitment to the development of infrastructure that enhances tourism and the island's economy.

As stated in a relevant announcement, the TEFA Group, having in its CV 20 years of successful management and construction of marinas in Preveza and Aktion, aspires to complete the project and start the operation of the marina by the end of 2026. A strategic award of the construction to a Chios-based technical company ensured swift and high-quality construction, while simultaneously providing financial support to the community. 

The implementation of the marina is a key pillar of the master plan for the regeneration of the coastal zone of Chios, and together with the completion of other infrastructure projects such as the airport and the port, aim to make the island a leading destination in shipping and marine tourism.

The Chairman of the Board of Directors of Chios Marina S.A. Elias Tefas stressed the company's commitment to a rapid and quality delivery of the project to Chios and its residents. For his part, the Managing Director of Chios Marina S.A., Vassilis Tefas, said that the marina, with its completion, apart from creating 133 berths for vessels, will upgrade marine tourism, strengthening the local economy and creating jobs, with respect to the environment and emphasis on quality and cooperation with the local community.
