Praktiker Hellas' turnover reached 187.5 million euros in 2023, an increase of 5.5% compared to 2022.
Earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortization (EBITDA) reached 2.2 million euros, an improvement of 3.1 million euros compared to 2022.
According to a statement, 2023 was a milestone year for Praktiker Hellas, as it implemented investments of 4.6 million euros (an increase of more than 25% compared to 2022). The company financed all investments entirely from equity, with a focus on the opening of a new store in Corfu, the relocation of the store in Alexandroupolis, general store upgrades, the strengthening of digital transformation, and the training of human resources. The new lifelong learning program led to a 46% increase in training hours for its employees. In addition, the company implemented a universal reward program for its employees. With the above initiatives, Praktiker Hellas continues to dynamically support the Greek market and invest in the Greek economy with consistency and a strategy for long-term growth, the same announcement noted.
Store traffic increased by 9.5%, which, according to the company, demonstrates the growing preference of customers and the positive response to its upgraded services.
Alternative channels, such as the e-shop and the call centre, also recorded a 7.5% increase in traffic, confirming the company's successful adaptation to the new needs of consumers and their preference for easy and fast shopping. At the same time, transactions with professionals and businesses increased by 3.6%, reinforcing Praktiker Hellas' commitment to provide reliable solutions and high-quality services for the professional public.
According to the company, these results demonstrate the trust shown by its customers as well as its partners and come to confirm the effectiveness of Praktiker Hellas' strategies to continuously improve their experience. Despite market challenges like rising product transport and logistics costs, the company successfully absorbed a significant portion of these increases, ensuring competitive prices for its customers. In 2023, the company presented and implemented a new corporate identity, complete with a renewed logo and a fully integrated store redesign, ushering in a new era.
