Alexis Patelis, the head of the Prime Minister's financial office, announced the completion of the project at the end of his five-year term in the Presidency of the Government, in a Facebook post.

"I would like to thank all those with whom I have worked, but above all, I express my deep appreciation for the trust that the Prime Minister has placed in me and for the honour of contributing to the best of my abilities to the collective governmental effort," Alexis Patelis underlined.

"Although we still have a long way to go, economic growth is more than double the European average and the reforms that have been implemented have led to lower unemployment, a significant reduction in debt, increased investment and the recovery of credibility abroad. 2025 is very different from 2019. Our country has huge potential, and under the leadership of Kyriakos Mitsotakis, the country is moving steadily towards a better future for all", he added.

Patelis began his post by stressing that five and a half years ago, the Prime Minister made him the extremely honourable offer to become Head of his Economic Office. "In 2019, our country was still under capital controls. The greatest economic achievement of this government is the return to investment grade and stability. This achievement marks the return of our country to an environment of credibility, rapid growth and opportunity," he said.

"Having a long career in the private sector, I have been given the opportunity to serve my country, for which I will be forever grateful. I have informed the Prime Minister of my intention - after five years - to complete my work as Prime Minister at the end of the year," he stressed.
