The general index of industrial production recorded an increase of 5.3% in the ten months of January–October 2024 compared to the corresponding index of the same period last year, according to the Hellenic Statistical Authority (ELSTAT).

The same index showed a decrease of 2.9% in October compared to the same month in 2023, compared to an increase of 10.3% in the corresponding comparison between 2023 and 2022.

The seasonally adjusted General Index of Industrial Production for October 2024, compared to the corresponding index for September 2024, increased by 0.6%.

The index for the machinery and equipment repair and installation industry showed the largest percentage increase, while the index for the leather and leather products industry showed the largest percentage decrease in October 2024 compared to September 2024.

When comparing the October 2024 indexes to the October 2023 indexes, the largest percentage decrease was recorded in the leather and leather products industry, while the largest percentage increase was recorded in the coal and lignite extraction; crude oil and natural gas extraction; and support activities for mining.
