
The new Business Unit Greece, Cyprus, Balkans and Baltic countries, in which Greece will have a leading role, effective January 1, 2025, was announced by Unilever Hellas as part of the new structure of One Unilever markets in Europe.
The position of general manager in the new business unit, with responsibility for 14 markets, will be held by George Tzavaras, currently general manager for ice cream in Greece, Romania and EMEA. With a rich professional background, strategic thinking and commitment to achieving goals, George Tzavaras will lead the new business unit, making a decisive contribution to Unilever's growth in Europe and focusing on strengthening Unilever's leading position in Greece.
George Tzavaras joined Unilever in 2016, after many years of experience in commercial roles in leading FMCG companies. He initially led Unilever Food Solutions in Greece and Cyprus, and from 2020 he took on the role of General Manager for Ice Cream in Greece, Romania and EMEE. During his tenure, he played a key role in the growth of the ice cream business, consistently exceeding expectations by leading his team to continuous success and positive results.
In the new One Unilever structure, the position of Head of Southeast Europe, currently held by Dimitris Maggioros, is being abolished. With many years of experience in management positions in international groups, Dimitris Maggioros started his professional career at Unilever in 2011. He has served as Marketing Director in the Food and Detergents & Cosmetics sectors. From 2017 to date, he has headed the Sales Department, and in 2023 he also took on the role of Head of Southeast Europe. During his tenure, he has contributed significantly to Unilever's strategic growth through his methodical, consistent, people-centric approach and valuable leadership of teams to significant achievements.
