Stagnation prevailed today (11/12) on the Athens Stock Exchange, with investors avoiding risk-taking and making cautious moves around the 1,460 level.
Thus, the Greek market may not have bridged the distance from the "tops" of 1,502 points but at least managed to hold the gains of 1,450 points. Let's not forget that Athens is "running" at a +4.6% pace through December.
Buyers, however, showed a willingness to assimilate the above gains, as even the satisfactory US inflation data failed to improve the investment psychology and bring the sign back into positive territory.
Specifically, in the third session of the week, the General Index fell imperceptibly by 0.08% to 1,457.60 points, losing 1.2 points compared to Tuesday's close (1,458.81 points).
The arc of daily fluctuations was fixed at seven points (from 1,454.69 to 1,461.18 points), with the turnover of transactions ranging at 141 million euros, of which 49 million euros were related to packages in GEK TERNA.
In fact, six pre-agreed transactions, worth EUR 47 million, related to shares in the family office of Marianna Latsis, representing 2.5% of the share capital or 2.6 million shares. The buyers were five foreign investors, George Peristeris, as well as executives of GEK Terna and Terna Energy. The purchases were made at a price of EUR 18.
Piraeus shares rose +0.26% to +0.26% and EUR 3.85, NBG shares fell -0.13% to -0.13% and EUR 7.73, Alpha shares traded -0.37% to -0.37% and EUR 1.615, while Eurobank shares were limited to -0.18% and EUR 2.241.
In the high-cap index (-0.11% and 3,554 points), Metlen shares expanded +1.1% and recovered 33 euros, with Lamda Development shares gaining 1.8% to close at 7.2 euros. GEK TERNA shares also rose 1%, rising to 18.5 euros in the wake of the 2.5% placement of Latsco. AIA and EYDAP expanded by 1% and 1.5%, respectively. On the flip side, PPC shares fell by 1.99% and folded to EUR 11.8. Hellaktor's shares were also down by at least 1%, with Jumbo shares falling -2.4% to EUR 25.9.
As for the mid-cap index (+0.07% and 2,299 points), Intrakat's share stood out positively at +0.9% and EUR 4.79, approaching EUR 4.8 again. Intralot and Thrace Plastics gained 1.0% and 2.3% respectively, while Austriacard's share continued its recovery from recent lows, finishing at +2.6% and EUR 5.7. In contrast, Kri Kri shares folded to -2.2% and EUR 14.9. Finally, PPA shares traded at -1.5% and 29.4 euros.
