
Investors continued their selective investments today (13/12) on the Athens Stock Exchange, which remained in positive territory, thanks to the rotation of shares.
It may not have made the difference and failed to exceed 1,470 points, but the Greek market maintained the positive sentiment of December, maintaining the scenario of gradual convergence with the "peaks" of 1,502 points.
However, it is clear that a new impetus is needed in order to avoid the effort to recover this year's highs being left in the middle, while only 10 sessions remain until the 2024 curtain (+13.5% return since the beginning of the year).
Specifically, in the last session of the five-day session, the General Index posted a slight increase of 0.36% to 1,469.32 points, gaining 5.3 points compared to Thursday's close (1,464.03 points).
The arc of daily fluctuations was fixed at six points (from 1,464.64 to 1,470.44 points), with a turnover of 92 million euros, of which 11.2 million euros were pre-agreed packages.
On a weekly basis, the main stock index, after its impressive start in December (weekly gain of +4.5%), continued its positive movements, rising by a further +0.9%.
The banking index continued in positive territory as it ended up +0.47% and 1,298 points, recording a year-to-date return of over +22%.
ΝΒG shares gained +1.03% and 7.85 euros, Piraeus shares followed at +0.50% and 3.932 euros, Piraeus shares closed almost unchanged at 2.21 euros, while Alpha shares fell -0.12% and 1.62 euros.
In the high-cap index (+0.32% and 3,584 points), Metlen's shares expanded by 0.9% and recovered to 34 euros. ELVALHALKOR shares also gained 3.7%, returning to 1.95 euros, while Autohellas and Cenergy shares gained 2.3% and 1.6%, respectively. Ellaktor, Viohalco and Aegean rose 1.3% to 1.9%. At the same time, Helleniq Energy's shares were up +1.4% and €7.1, amid commitments for a 50% dividend from the upcoming €200 million sale of its stake in DEPA. On the flip side, Lamda fell 1.1%, with shares of PPC, OPAP and OTE losing marginally to 0.3%.
As for the mid-cap index (+0.66% and 2,313 points), the shares of EXAE stood out positively at +2% and 4.55 euros, with the shares of ADMIE following at +1% and 2.47 euros, with a turnover of more than 1.5 million euros. Beyond that, shares of Lavipharm, Profile, Quest, Trade Estates, ABAX and Kri Kri closed at least +1%. On the other hand, shares of Techniki Olympiaki lost 0.8%. A special mention should be made of Iktinos, which soared +6.8%, thanks to the approval for the underground quarry in Drama.
