In the same (pleasant) play... the Athens Stock Exchange became a spectator, which for the second consecutive session managed the international pressures calmly, without falling into the "trap" of extensive liquidations.

Finding the "antidote" to the wave of selling, which is "sweeping" Europe and Wall Street, the Greek market maintained with relative... comfort above the 1,450 points limit, keeping open the "window" of convergence with the "tops" of 1,502 points.

Specifically, on the last day of the week, the General Index fell slightly by 0.26% to 1,452.50 points, losing less than four points compared to Thursday's close (1,456.28 points).

The arc of daily fluctuations was fixed at 10 points (from 1,446.09 to 1,456.07 points), with trading turnover climbing to 516 million euros, of which 346 million euros related to Terna Energy shares.

The banking index, which managed for the second consecutive day to absorb the pressure and "return" to positive territory, closed at +0.05% and 1,295 points, keeping the 2024 yield at +22%.

NBG shares widened +0.80% and 7.84 euros, Eurobank shares followed at +0.63% and 2.25 euros, Alpha shares traded -0.47% and 1.5795 euros, while Piraeus shares slipped -1.04% and 3.891 euros.

In the high-cap index (-0.27% and 3,535 points), Titan Cement's shares corrected from record highs of 40 euros, falling -1% to 39.6 euros. At the same time, shares of ELVALHALKOR and Viohalco showed losses of more than 1%. Shares of Metlen, Autohellas, Aegean and GEK Terna retreated by at least 1%. Viohalco's shares also plunged 3.3%. On the flip side, shares of Terna Energy rose +0.96% and EUR 20, with Motor Oil and OTE following at +0.7% and +0.6%, respectively.

As for the mid-cap index (-0.56% and 2,306 points), Optima Bank's shares stood out negatively at -2.3% and 12.5 euros, with shares of AXAE, AVAX, Fourlis and Dimand losing up to 2%. In fact, the latter "fell" to a new year low (7.8). In contrast, Intralot's shares expanded dynamically to +2.4% and EUR 0.99. Technical Olympic and Intrakat followed at +1%, while Profile and Austriacard shares gained 0.7% and 0.5%, respectively.
