The Athens Stock Exchange is moving at a low... tempo, as investors have slowed down, while we are only 2+1 sessions away from the end of 2024.

The Greek market is accumulating in the 1,450 area as traders avoid taking additional risk and engage in selective positioning around current levels.

Besides, most portfolios are already closed for 2024, with investors reaping the benefits of this year's +12% return. Let's not forget, after all, that Athens is just 3.7% away from the 1,502 "tops.".

Specifically, in the second and last session of the week, the General Index is up slightly by 0.20% to 1,451.82 points, gaining three points compared to Monday's close (1,448.86 points).

The arc of daily fluctuations extends to six points (from 1,446.99 to 1,452.07 points), with the turnover of transactions ranging at 4 million in the first 15 minutes.

ΝBG's share is up +0.50% and 7.63 euros, Alpha's share is up +0.70% and 1.587 euros, Piraeus' share is trading +0.67% and 3.88 euros, while Eurobank's share is unchanged at 2.224 euros.

In the high-cap index (+0.24% and 3,530 points), Hellaktor's share expands +1.5% and 1.99 euros, in an attempt to recover 2.00 euros for the first time since September. Undoubtedly, the news of a capital return of 0.85 euros (preceded by a 0.50 euros/share premium) offers strong support. ELVALHALKOR shares are also up 1.1%, while Sarantis, Viohalco, Motor Oil and Cenergy follow by 0.7% to 0.9%. On the flip side, PPC and OTE are down 0.5%.

As for the mid-cap index (+0.17% and 2,319 points), Dimand's share climbs back above 8 euros, breaking away from recent historic lows of 7.8 euros. Fourlis-Trade Estates shares are also up by at least 1%, with Noval shares following at +0.8%. Conversely, PPA shares retreat to -1.1% and EUR 30, while Lavipharm shares slide to -2.4% and EUR 0.74.
