The Athens Stock Exchange halts the trend of consecutive 14-year highs, as sellers dominate the board in an effort to capitalize on the gains.

Of course, this does not change (at least for now) the positive short-term trend. Athens, moreover, remains at the highest levels of the last 165 months (>1,500), not moving away from the next target of 1,550.

Specifically, in the first session of the new week, the General Index shows a controlled decline of -0.76% to 1,532.72 points, losing about 11.5 points compared to Friday's close (1,544.13 points).

The arc of daily fluctuations extends to seven points (from 1,531.54 to 1,538.02 points), with the turnover of transactions ranging at 4.5 million in the first 15 minutes.

The banking index bears the brunt of today's losses as it is down -1.38% and 1,398 points, correcting from recent 9-year highs.

NBG shares slide -2.04% and EUR 8.34, Piraeus shares follow at -1.27% and EUR 4.37, Alpha shares trade at -1.12% and EUR 1.7245, while Eurobank shares fall -1.86% and EUR 2.38.

In the high-cap index (-0.88% and 3,729 points), Cenergy's shares slide -2.4% and 9.6 euros, with Metlen, Titan Cement, Aegean, GEK TERNA, Jumbo, ELVALHALKOR and Motor Oil sliding at least -1%. At the same time, PPC shares, after hitting 15-year highs of EUR 13, retract controllably to -0.9% and EUR 12.8. Only Coca-Cola's shares escape the bearish sentiment, gaining 0.8%.

As for the mid-cap index (-0.66% and 2,463 points), the shares of Intracom and Profile stand out negatively at -1.8%, while the shares of Noval, Quest and Lavipharm are limited to more than -1%. Aktor's shares, following the overcap of the EUR 200 million capital increase, are down -0.3% and EUR 5.2. A special mention should be made of Alter Ego, which climbs +8.7% and 4.3 euros, having a turnover of almost 4 million euros in the first 40 minutes and making an impressive "debut" on the stock exchange.
