Coffee Island has opened its first store in India, in the heart of the business and technology hub of Gurgaon. According to an announcement, the new store marks the Greek coffee chain's entry into the dynamic Indian market and puts into practice its vision to become the international leader and pioneer in the world of coffee.
The Coffee Island store is located in a busy business building that hosts thousands of employees daily, ensuring high footfall. With a contemporary design, striking graffiti inspired by India's youth culture, and a menu that combines signature products and beverages, the store brings Greek specialty coffee culture closer to the tastes and preferences of Indian consumers. In addition, the company sourced coffees from Indian growers, respecting local coffee production, to develop—along with coffees from different geographical regions—blends exclusively for the Indian market.
The store opening is a joint project between Coffee Island and Master Franchisee, Pratyush Kumar Sureka, owner of Vita Nova, who holds the rights to develop the brand in India. This partnership is based on mutual trust and strategic perspective, with the aim of creating a network of 20 stores by 2025.
The success of the venture was ensured through close collaboration between the teams and the support of professionals from both sides, reports the AP. Coffee Island partners traveled to India and oversaw every stage—from store construction and configuration to staff training—ensuring that the brand experience is authentically captured in the new market.
