Sellers gain ground with focus on Banks - 1,600-point mark at risk

The selling pressure is widening on ATHEX as investors assess the results of the German elections and the financial performance of Piraeus Bank and AIA for 2024.
The General Index is currently at 1,605 points, down 0.8%, with a trading volume of €120 million and around 23 million shares exchanged.
The banking index has dropped 1.8% to 1,456 points, while the FTSE has decreased by 1% to 3,924 points, and the FTSE mid-cap index is down 0.6%, settling at 2,524 points.
