The General Index falls below 1,600 Points - Pressures from Piraeus and the Paulson divestment

Continuing from where it left off yesterday, ATHEX expands its losses today, with the General Index succumbing to selling pressure. Similar to other European exchanges, investors are exhibiting caution in their moves due to fears of tariffs imposed by Donald Trump.
In this context, the General Index is recording a decline of 0.38%, standing at 1,597.77 points, with a trading volume of €234.19 million following the sale of John Paulson's stake in Piraeus Bank. The total volume of shares traded amounts to 50.38 million.
