An administrative fine of 395,125 euros was imposed on the multinational company "Henkel Hellas,"  as after checks carried out by the Interdepartmental Market Control Unit (DIMEA), it was found that there was a violation of Article 54 of Law No. 5045/29-07-2023 regarding the curbing of unfair profitability phenomena.

Kostas Skrekas, the Minister of Development, made the decision regarding the violation, which concerns cleaning products (detergents and other items) for widespread consumption.

As it emerged from the thorough inspections, the company's gross profit margin was higher than that required by the relevant legislation. The total benefit to the company would have amounted to EUR 197,561,54. The fine is therefore set at twice the expected benefit for all the products for which an infringement was found in accordance with the law.

The Minister of Development, Kostas Skrekas, stated:  "The battle with accuracy continues with unremitting intensity and determination. Anyone who violates the law on unfair profiteering is detected and punished with heavy fines. The fines are imposed, made public, and collected without exception, no matter how large the company, including multinationals.".
