This is a flagship green project, as stated in a relevant announcement, which was implemented with investments exceeding 53 million euros and upgrades the overall data in the ecosystem of marinas in Greece.
The new Astir Marina, is one of the leading home-port marinas in the Southeastern Mediterranean region and places Greece at the forefront of elite yachting worldwide. It was designed in accordance with the most modern environmental conditions and the strictest criteria of internationally recognized standards, in all its construction and operations. Today, it offers the optimal coexistence of hospitality and state-of-the-art services with the implementation of best practices and sustainable operations at all levels.
The importance of Astir Marina's redevelopment, as a model of sustainable development and the realization of a vision that creates value for both the Athenian Riviera and the country, was the central message of the inauguration ceremony, which culminated with the sounding of the horns of the moored boats that sounded in unison, symbolically marking the official start of the new era of Astir Marina.
Kostis Hatzidakis, Minister of National Economy and Finance, addressed the inauguration ceremony representing the Greek government, and, among other things, stated: "The completion of the investment for the new and upgraded Astir Marina - which exceeds €53 million, is another example of how Greece has become an attractive investment destination. With 60 berths, Astir Marina is now becoming a more modern and functional marina, respecting the environment and the cultural heritage of the area. But the benefits do not stop there. Because this project also helps to tackle disorderly berthing in Vouliagmeni Bay, boosts the local economy, and enhances the country's tourism product as a whole."
