Inability to react amid bank volatility
Today, 30/5, marked the end of yet another session of extreme volatility on the Athens Exchange. This session saw the sideways-bottomward movement persist for the third time in a row, highlighting the supports of 1,436 units (the 50-day average).

Another session of intense volatility was said goodbye to the Athens Exchange today (30/5), which continued for the 3rd consecutive session the sideways-bottomward movement, bringing to the fore the supports of 1,436 units (50-day average).

More specifically, despite positive signs for much of the session, the General Index recorded a marginal decline of 0.16% to 1,439.91 points, losing about 2.5 points compared to yesterday's close (1,442.21 points).

The arc of daily fluctuations was fixed at 16 points (from 1,433.71 to 1,449.49 points), with a turnover of 120 million euros, of which 13 million euros related to pre-agreed packages.

Alpha Bank shares fell sharply to -2.47% and EUR 1.575, Piraeus shares fell -0.25% and EUR 3.63, National Bank shares were almost unchanged at EUR 8.12; and Eurobank shares gained +0.74% and EUR 2.035.

In the high-cap index (-0.24% and 3,482 points), Coca - Cola shares folded to -2.75% and 31.1 euros due to the dividend cut. Shares of Ellaktor - ElvalHalcor also posted losses of 1%. On the flip side, Viohalco's shares widened by 2.6%, with Cenergy's shares following at +2.2% and 8.6 euros. Jumbo, GEK Terna, Terna Energy, Titan, Aegean and PPC gained at least +1%.

As for the mid-cap index (-0.50% and 2,312 points), Intracom shares remained at the centre of pressure after the deal for Europe Insurance, sliding -3.2% and 3.5 euros. Techniki Olympiaki, Thrace Plastics, Intralot, EXAE, Profile, AVAX, and Alumyl fell between 1% and 2.5%. On the contrary, Intrakat's shares gained dynamically to +1.5% and 5.2 euros. Kri Kri, PPA and Austriacard rose more than 1%.
