Minister of State Akis Skertsos presented the digital platform erga.gov.gr, through which every citizen, journalist, local government body, and civil society all have access to and information on the progress of projects taking place in the Greek territory.

The presentation was held at KAM Megalo Arsenali in Chania in the presence of the regional governor of Crete, Stavros Arnaoutakis, the vice-regional governors of Chania and Rethymnon, the Minister of Rural Development, Lefteris Avgenakis, the Deputy Minister of Health, Marios Themistokleous, government deputies of the prefecture, mayors of Chania and Rethymnon, professional associations, bodies, and representatives of chambers.

"It is the possibility of information on all projects, small, medium, and other, implemented in each municipality, in each prefecture, and in each region of the country," said Mr. Skertsos, who described the creation of the platform as "an obvious and yet bold step toward accountability and transparency, to gain control of all projects that change our lives and our daily lives."

"Right now, Crete and the whole of Greece are construction sites. We have managed, thanks to the negotiations of the Prime Minister and the government, to obtain the largest European public investment package in the current programming period," he noted.

He noted that this is 85 billion euros, which are resources that "we are managing to bring investments, infrastructure, and renovations to hospitals, schools, courts, and cultural sites to improve the daily lives of citizens."
