17% jump in passenger traffic in the first five months
Athens International Airport saw double-digit growth rates in May, significantly above the record levels of 2023.

Double-digit growth rates were recorded at Athens International Airport in May, far exceeding the record levels of 2023. 

Passenger traffic at Athens International Airport during May 2024 reached 3.01 million, up 18.5% compared to May 2023 levels. In detail, both domestic and international passenger traffic exceeded last year's respective figures by 10.6% and 22.3%, respectively.

Overall, in the first five months of the year, the airport's traffic reached 10.71 million passengers, an increase of 17%. Passenger traffic, both domestic and international, grew by 9.0% and 20.8%, respectively.

The number of flights at Athens International Airport during the first five months of 2024 amounted to 92,310, recording an increase of 14.1% compared to the same period in 2023. 

Both domestic and international flights increased by 6.8% and 19.7% respectively, compared to 2023.
