Buyers are gaining a steady lead on the Athens Stock Exchange, which is trying to maintain a positive sign for the third consecutive day, continuing its recovery from the low of 1,424 points.
Satisfactory Q1 GDP data and ongoing banking euphoria maintain optimistic sentiment despite short-term volatility abroad.
Somehow, the distance from the recent highs of 1,502 points tends to narrow to the 3% level while the Greek market awaits the next key catalyst.
More specifically, in today's session, the General Index is up mildly by 0.49% to 1,460.03 points, gaining seven points compared to Thursday's close (1,452.85 points).
The arc of daily fluctuations extends to 12 points (from 1,450.83 to 1,462.22 points), with a turnover of 30 million euros, of which 3 million euros are pre-agreed packages.
The banking index, with the +3% gain of the previous two days, continues on a high buying pace, moving +1.47% and 1,293 points.
The share of National Bank rises +2.44% to 8,222 euros, Eurobank's share expands +1.59% to 2,112 euros, Piraeus' share trades +0.45% to 3,802 euros; and Alpha Bank's share strengthens +0.91% to 1,608 euros.
In the high-cap index (+0.60% and 3,544 points), Titan Cement's share gains 1.3% and re-approaches 31 euros. Near 12 euros, the Aegean share is also close to 12 euros, which is up more than 1%. For its part, Autohellas' shares recover 1.9% after recent 15-month lows (11.4 euros). Jumbo, GEK Terna, OPAP and Terna Energy are up 0.5%. In contrast, shares of Coca - Cola, Helleniq Energy and Sarantis lose 0.5% each.
As for the mid-cap index (-0.40% and 2,330 points), Intrakat's shares stand out negatively at -1.5% and EUR 5.09, with Premia, ADMIE and PPA losing around 1% each. On the flip side, Kri Kri shares gain 2.2%, while Lavipharm shares expand by 1.6%.
