The initial debts settled through the out-of-court mechanism by the end of May amount to €6.33 billion. These are a total of 17,893 successful settlements completed under the out-of-court mechanism, while in May in particular, successful settlements amounted to 1,153, corresponding to debts of €420 million, the Ministry of Economy and Finance said in a statement.

It is also worth noting that now arrangements are also being made for vulnerable debtors based on the recent law that provides for the mandatory acceptance of the out-of-court settlement proposal by creditors. In particular, the first 374 arrangements in this category have been made.

The reports on the out-of-court mechanism and bilateral arrangements publish in detail the approval rates of financial institutions (banks and management companies) and the NPL figures of the four systemic banks. Most of the NPLs recorded by the banks are terminated, and around 20% are in the process of being settled.

Finally, arrangements corresponding to the largest loan management companies are presented in detail. The four management companies, which hold almost 90% of the market, carried out direct bilateral arrangements for a total of almost 5,500 debtors in April 2024, with a total amount of EUR 358 million in outstanding debts.
