For the first time in the history of the Hellenic Federation of Enterprises in 117 years, ballots are being held for the election of the association's president, as two candidates are running for the presidency in the elections being held today.
The candidates are businessman Spyros Theodoropoulos, who has 26 years of experience in the Association of Business and Industry, and businesswoman Ioulia Tseti.
The elections and their outcome will mark the next day of the association and will determine its course over the next two years in the context of the critical role it plays in an environment of constant change and significant challenges. Climate change, the green transition, and geopolitical crises are some of the biggest challenges that Greek business is currently facing and that it is called upon to manage.
The Annual Ordinary General Assembly of SEV members will begin its work at 9 am at the Athens Concert Hall with a physical presence and will then include elections for the election of the new Board of Directors and the new General Council of SEV from the approximately 800 registered members who have the right to vote. At the Assembly, the Members of SEV will be asked, among other things, to approve the Annual Report for 2023, the Annual Report for the financial year ended (2023), as well as the Budget for 2024. Finally, it is noted that the traditional event, as part of the Annual General Meeting, will be held on a different date.
"In 2020, we took over the management of SEV with the aim of contributing, as much as we can, to a modern and strong Greece with competitive entrepreneurship, sustainable growth, and open horizons," noted the outgoing President, Dimitris Papalexopoulos, in his message regarding SEV's actions and initiatives during the last four years. "With our actions, we have helped businesses in their efforts to evolve, to become extroverted and innovative, to exploit the talent and skills of their people, and to further develop their social responsibility. I believe that SEV's initiatives help Greece create opportunities for all but also help entrepreneurship generate value for the whole of society," he added.
