A meeting on the acceleration of recruitment procedures in the public sector was held yesterday afternoon at the Maximou Mansion, under the leadership of Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis.

During the meeting, Interior Minister Thodoris Livanios and Deputy Interior Minister Paraskevi Charalabogianni presented proposals for the simplification of the procedures foreseen for new applications examined by the Supreme Personnel Selection Board (ASEP).

The digitization of the procedures currently followed was discussed, with the aim of speeding up the screening of applications through the extraction of data from services such as Ptyxia.gov.gr and Taxisnet. In this way, the certified qualifications of candidates will be updated immediately, thus reducing the number of checks carried out by the AESEP and helping to reduce the time taken to examine applications.

In addition, the development of the interoperability of the ASEP with government bodies involved in public sector recruitment procedures was discussed in order to address unnecessary bureaucratic obstacles that currently delay the filling of positions and to further enhance the authority of the ASEP.

The meeting was also attended by State Ministers Makis Voridis and Akis Skertssos, Deputy Prime Minister Thanasis Kontogeorgis, Deputy Prime Minister and Government Spokesman Pavlos Marinakis, Deputy Prime Minister George Mylonakis, and the Prime Minister's Secretary General Stelios Koutnatzis.
