Today's session on the Athens Stock Exchange was completed without any great risk appetite, with buyers maintaining the lead for the second consecutive day, leading the General Index above 1,425 points.

However, nervousness was again present, a sign of the caution that continues to prevail not only at home but also abroad, where everyone's eyes are on the political developments in France.

Nevertheless, the Greek market managed to maintain a safety cushion from the critical supports of 1400 points, any loss of which may open the way to 1,380–1,360 points.

More specifically, during today's session, the General Index recorded a slight increase of +0.27% and stood at 1,426.20 points, gaining about four points compared to Tuesday's close (1,422.32 points).

The arc of daily fluctuations was fixed at eight points (from 1,420.37 to 1,428.71 points), with a turnover of 83 million euros, of which 13.7 million euros related to pre-agreed packages.

The banking index, despite the intra-day volatility, managed to continue yesterday's reaction, ending up +0.78% and 1,261 points, narrowing to -6.5% the distance from this year's peaks.

Eurobank shares rose +1.6% and €2.087; National Bank shares followed at +1.14% and €8.192; Piraeus shares were unchanged at €3.56; and Alpha Bank shares narrowed to -0.26% and €1.544.

In the high-cap index (+0.25% and 3,455 points), Motor Oil shares soared 3.6% and returned above 25.5 euros. Hellaktor's shares also rose by at least 2% and continued to rise, while shares of Sarantis, Terna Energy, and GEK Terna gained more than 1%. On the other hand, Mytilineos shares retreated by 1%, with Aegean, Viohalco, Elvalhalcor, Titan Cement, and Autohellas losing between 1% and 2.5%.
