The Minister of National Economy and Finance, Kostis Hatzidakis, will travel to Luxembourg today, where he will participate in the Eurogroup and ECOFIN meetings.

The Eurogroup meeting will take place on Thursday, June 20, where the agenda will include a discussion on the development of the eurozone economy, the role of the euro as an international currency, and the implementation of industrial policy as a means of enhancing competitiveness.

At the ECOFIN meeting, to be held on Friday, June 21, the Council will be invited to reach a political agreement on the adoption of a package of measures on value-added tax (VAT) in the digital age. It will also discuss the state of implementation of the Recovery and Resilience Fund and the budgetary impact of the war in Ukraine, while the European Commission will present the spring package of the European Semester 2024.

During his stay in Luxembourg, the Greek Minister will also participate in the meeting of the Board of Directors of the European Stability Mechanism (ESM) on June 20, as well as the meeting of the Board of Directors of the European Investment Bank on June 21.
