The Athens Stock Exchange continues to be highly volatile, while sellers and buyers are fighting for control of the bias, although the former have gained a small lead in the last few minutes.

The weak sentiment abroad and the corrective course of the banks have overshadowed the mega-deal in Terna Energy, while at the same time the Greek market appears "numb" by MSCI's decision not to include the Athens Stock Exchange in a watch list for upgrading in developed markets.

And all this, while within the day we expect the triple expiration of derivatives, but also the established restructuring of indices, which is expected to bring a spike in the value of transactions.

More specifically, in today's session, the General Index is down marginally by 0.28% to 1,417.71 points, losing four points compared to Thursday's close (1,421.71 points).

The arc of daily fluctuations extends to 10 points (from 1,415.27 to 1,425.90 points), with a turnover of 35 million euros, of which 340,000 euros are pre-agreed packages.

On the board, now, Helleniq Energy and Motor Oil are struggling to react after the shock of the extraordinary tax. Beyond that, Piraeus is retreating to a new 5-month low, Alpha Bank is fighting for the 1.5 euro level, while Titan is trying to recover the 30 euro level.

In the high-cap index (-0.08% and 3,445 points), Lamda Development's shares slip -1.3% and 6.5 euros, losing what they gained after the deal with shipowner Prokopiou. ELVALHALKOR, Hellaktor and EVDAP are limited to around 1.5%. Helleniq Energy and Motor Oil, at the same time, show small fluctuations, affected by the extraordinary tax on 2023 earnings. The shares of Terna Energy and GEK TERNA are also unchanged. On the contrary, Titan Cement's shares are trying to recover the 30 euros, gaining 1%.

As for the mid-cap index (-0.45% and 2,247 points), Intrakat's shares stand out negatively at -1.8% and fall below 5 euros; Ideal, Lavipharm, AVAX, ADMIE,  and Thrace Plastics fold by 1% to 2%. On the flip side, shares of Fourlis and Techniki Olympias rise 1%, with Dimand and Epsilon gaining about 1%.
