Retail trade turnover up 12.1% in April
The turnover for retail trade companies required to maintain double-entry books in April was 3.84 billion euros, a 12.1% increase from April 2023.

At 3.84 billion euros, the turnover for retail trade businesses with the obligation to keep double-entry books in April was an increase of 12.1% compared to April 2023 (when it was 3.43 billion euros) and an increase of 13.6% compared to March 2024 (when it was 3.39 billion euros).

For enterprises in the retail trade sector, excluding the motor vehicles, food, and fuel sectors, which are required to keep double-entry books and for which data are available on a monthly basis, turnover in April 2024 amounted to €1.07 billion, an increase of 13.0% compared to April 2023, when it stood at €0.94 billion, and an increase of 28.4% compared to March 2024, when it stood at €0.83 billion. 

For small and medium-sized enterprises in the retail trade sector with the obligation to keep double-entry books, for which data are available on a monthly basis, turnover in April 2024 amounted to 1.35 billion euros, an increase of 19.1% compared to April 2023, when it stood at 1.13 billion euros.

For small and medium-sized enterprises in the retail trade sector, excluding the motor vehicles, food and fuel sectors, for which data are available on a monthly basis, turnover in April 2024 amounted to EUR 0.54 billion, an increase of 16.4% compared with April 2023, when it stood at EUR 0.47 billion.
