Athens hotels closed the first five months of 2024 with an average occupancy rate of 72.3%. In fact, occupancy is up by 4.8% compared to last year, as highlighted in a statement by the Athens Hotel Association of Attica and Argosaronikos.

May recorded the best occupancy of the previous months (86.2%); however, this occupancy shows a decrease of 2.7% compared to May 2023, always based on what Athens hoteliers stress. The average room rate (ADR) and revenue per available room (RevPar), according to the Athens News Agency, are currently performing slightly better than they did during the same time in 2023. Specifically, the average room rate (ADR) for the first five months of 2024 was 127.15 euros (an increase of 8.8% compared to the first five months of 2023), while revenue per available room (RevPar) was 91.90 euros, compared to 80.58 euros for the first five months of 2023 (an increase of 14%).

May, as is well known, is considered a peak month for the capital, as is June, and by default, better performance is always expected. The average room rate (ADR) in May 2024 was EUR 178.16 (up 15.6% compared to May 2023) and revenue per available room (RevPar) was EUR 153.50 (up 12.4% compared to May 2023).
