PASOK President Nikos Androulakis announced the call for early internal party elections in two rounds, on October 6 and 13, respectively, from the podium of the party's Central Committee. He proposed holding an open debate between the presidential candidates while launching a fierce attack on his rivals within the party, calling it a "parade of personal ambitions."

In the context of his self-criticism, Mr. Androulakis said that "we should have achieved more" and that "we did not achieve all our goals.". At the same time, however, he called on party members not to be disastrous, noting that PASOK had emerged as the second party in the entire Greek region.
"Our difference with ND was more than 30 points, and with Syriza, 24. Now the difference with ND is half and with SYRIZA two points," the PASOK president said, adding that while there is a strategic defeat of ND and defeat of the TikTok policy of Mr. Kasselakis, there is introversion in PASOK.".

Meanwhile, the mayors of Athens, Harris Doukas and Pavlos Geroulanos, announced their candidacies."I will be present in this effort of PASOK," said Ηarris Doukas from the podium of the party's Central Committee meeting, calling for the elections to be held in a climate of unity.

He argued that he is now raising the issue of leadership "because now the circumstances demand it and clear answers and responsibilities are needed, and I am ready to take them on.". Harris Doukas also brought up the attacks he is experiencing in the Southwest and urged everyone in PASOK to condemn them. "We cannot tolerate the interference of Mr. Mitsotakis in our internal affairs," Doukas said.

Pavlos Geroulanos stressed, "I ask to lead the responsibility to present a plan that will become socially majoritarian because it will convincingly respond to the needs of the Greek household. To lead the responsibility to take off, functionally, the party so that our plan reaches every Greek family. "
