The opening of the tender procedure for the development of the National Ski Centre of Vasilitsa, covering a total area of approximately 6,200 acres, located in the mountains of the National Park of Northern Pindos, in the Regional Units of Grevena and Ioannina, was announced by the Hellenic Republic Asset Development Fund of Greece, a member company of the GrowthFund.

According to the announcement, the preferred investor will take over for at least 25 years the right to use, operate, manage, and exploit the National Ski Centre of Vasilitsa. The tender procedure will be carried out in two phases. The first phase will involve the pre-selection of candidates on the basis of technical and financial capacity criteria, and the second phase will involve the submission of binding financial offers. Interested investors are invited to submit an expression of interest file by September 13, 2024.

"TAIPED is conducting the tender on behalf of the Greek State. The aim is to elevate the Vasilitsa Ski Centre to an attractive mountain tourism pole, encouraging gentle tourism development throughout the year by strengthening the regional economy. The ski centre has seven (7) lifts installed, which serve the eighteen (18) existing downhill ski runs, including two beginners' runs. The property is in a particularly privileged position due to its proximity to Thessaloniki, Grevena, and Ioannina, as well as important cultural attractions such as Meteora and the archaeological site of Vergina. In addition, it has easy road access due to its connection with the Egnatia Odos and is 130 km from Ioannina airport and 213 km from Thessaloniki airport, attracting visitors from all over Greece and Southeast Europe," it stressed.

Details of the tender procedure are described in the Call for Expression of Interest, which has been posted on the website of the Hellenic Republic Asset Development Fund.
