The Athens Stock Exchange stalled today (9/7) in the region of 1,450 points, as the downward turn abroad did not allow a further upward move. Nevertheless, the General Index achieved, albeit with difficulty, its fifth consecutive positive session.

In any case, the Greek market has shown remarkable stability lately, against low investment visibility and high volatility. This has resulted in the restoration of this year's gains to levels above +12%.

Of course, we must not forget that all this is taking place in the absence of investors, who have slowed down considerably, fearing to take on additional risk in a volatile period of time and in view of the summer lushness.

Against this backdrop, the General Index rose imperceptibly by 0.02% to 1,451.22 points, gaining just 0.3 points from Monday's close (1,450.92 points).

The arc of daily fluctuations was fixed at 11 points (from 1,447.37 to 1,458.37 points), with a turnover of 108 million euros, of which 11.3 million euros related to pre-agreed packages.

NBG shares fell -1.62% and EUR 7.89, Eurobank shares declined -0.99% and EUR 2.105, Piraeus shares narrowed -1.07% and EUR 3.682, and Alpha Bank shares slipped -0.45% and EUR 1.65.

In the high-cap index (-0.12% and 3,535 points), GEK Terna's shares gained at least 2.1% and soared to a 24-year high of EUR 17.2, thanks to AXIA's price-target. Helleniq Energy, at the same time, achieved its 7th consecutive bullish session, as it was up +1% at EUR 8.3. PPC gained more than 2.7%, while OPAP followed at +2.6%. OTE, Elvalhalcor, Aegean, and Viohalco rose by 1%. On the flip side, Motor Oil's shares were down -1.20% at EUR 23.1, with Titan Cement losing 1%. Autohellas, finally, fell by 1.3%.

As for the mid-cap index (+0.70% and 2,310 points), Intralot's share stood out positively at +3.09% and 1.268 euros, reaching a new 6-year high. Intracom shares also gained more than 2.5%, with the shares of Techniki Olympiaki, Intrakat, and Fourlis following at +1%. On the other hand, Kri-Kri shares lost 0.8%.
