At 16:00 local time (23:00 Greek time), Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis will meet with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan on the sidelines of the NATO Summit in Washington, DC.
The meeting will be of short duration, and no "heavy" issues will be on the agenda, but the aim is to maintain the bridges of communication between the two countries and to ensure that any differences do not automatically generate tensions.
Earlier in the day, the Prime Minister will participate in the first day's work of the Summit. The Prime Minister's schedule today includes an interview with Nadia Schadlow, a member of the Hudson Institute and former US Deputy National Security Advisor, at the NATO Public Forum.
Kyriakos Mitsotakis will attend a dinner in honor of the leaders attending the NATO Summit at the White House, which will be hosted by US President Joe Biden and First Lady Jill Biden at 19:30 (local time).
