An important step in the implementation of the €100 million investment by the PPC in Mesogeion Avenue was the approval of the environmental conditions for the construction of its new green offices.

PPC's new headquarters will be built on the former Plesa Michael Camp (enclosed by Xenopoulou, Ernestou Embar, K. Uranis, and K. Messogeion) and will gather all the services that are currently scattered in various buildings in the centre of the city of Athens, as well as the company's administration, significantly reducing its operating costs.

The fact that the new building will be bioclimatic and will provide for the use of renewable energy sources to cover its energy needs.  At the same time, it will also provide a solution to the problem of the fragmentation of the company's administrative services located in different areas of Athens, making it difficult to communicate between the competent directorates and, in general, their work.

THE PROJECT

The project provides for the construction of a building housing the administrative services
and will include:

  • management offices
  • open space offices
  • amphitheater/media room
  • conference rooms
  • archive space
  • medical office
  • canteens
  • post office
  • at least two basements serving ancillary uses have parking spaces

The building can accommodate 1,800 people and will have 608 parking spaces.  In addition, the new PPC offices will be LEED PLATINUM-certified PLATINUM and WELL PLATINUM, while under the bioclimatic design, specialised energy-saving techniques will be implemented. Finally, photovoltaic panels are expected to be installed as well as heat pumps, while rainwater collection tanks will be installed on the exterior of the building in accordance with LEED standards.
