Inflation in Greece at 2.5% in June
In June, Eurostat updated its estimate of Greece's annual inflation from 2.4% to 2.5 percent.

Eurostat revised annual inflation in Greece to 2.5% in June from the first estimate of 2.4%.

Based on the final data released today, euro area inflation in June was 2.5%, down from 2.6% in May. A year earlier, the rate of increase was 5.5%. Annual inflation in the European Union was 2.6% in June 2024, up from 2.7% in May. A year earlier, the rate was 6.4%. 

The lowest annual rates were recorded in Finland (0.5%), Italy (0.9%), and Lithuania (1.0%). The highest annual rates were recorded in Belgium (5.4%), Romania (5.3%), Spain, and Hungary (both 3.6%). Compared with May 2024, annual inflation fell in seventeen Member States, remained stable in one, and rose in nine.

In June 2024, services (+1.84 percentage points, bp) had the highest contribution to the annual inflation rate in the euro area, followed by food, alcohol, and tobacco (+0.48 bp), non-energy industrial goods (+0.17 bp), and energy (+0.02 bp).
