Both arrivals and overnight stays recorded an increase, according to the provisional monthly data on hotel, camping, and collective short-stay accommodation (rooms to let), announced by ELSTAT for the month of April 2024.

According to the data from the relevant survey, during the month of April 2024, arrivals in tourist accommodation amounted to 2,187,914 and overnight stays to 6,759,350, an increase of 2.4% in arrivals and 2.2% in overnight stays compared to the corresponding month of 2023.

In particular, in the month of April 2024, compared to the corresponding month of 2023, there was an increase of 3.5% in arrivals and 2.6% in overnight stays of foreigners. Similarly, for nationals, there was an increase in arrivals and overnight stays of 0.4% and 1.1%, respectively.

A larger contribution to arrivals and nights spent in all accommodation establishments was observed from foreigners, with 64.7% and 73.5%, respectively. The average total overnight stay for the month of April 2024 was 3.1 days.
