Arrivals and overnight stays in hotel, camping and short-stay accommodation continued on an upward trajectory in May, according to the provisional monthly traffic data of the Hellenic Statistical Authority.

According to the data of the relevant survey, during the month of May 2024, arrivals in tourist accommodation amounted to 3,754,414 and overnight stays to 15,012,287, an increase of 3.4% in arrivals and 4.6% in overnight stays compared to the corresponding month of 2023. 

In particular, according to ELSTAT, there was an increase of 3.6% in arrivals and 4.7% in overnight stays of foreigners. Similarly, for nationals, there was an increase in arrivals and overnight stays of 2.5% and 3.7%, respectively.

A larger contribution to arrivals and nights spent in all accommodation establishments was observed from foreigners, with 81.4% and 89.7%, respectively. While the average total overnight stay for May amounted to 4 days,.
