Conservative moves and low tones are the picture on Athens Avenue, with energy sector stocks trying to give a boost while banks are in negative territory, while European indices are picking up pace.

Specifically, the General Index is trading at 1,481.2 points with subtle changes (-0.08%) and turnover at 34 million euros, while 7.7 million pieces have been traded.

The banking index is now down 0.53% at 1,341 points, the FTSE is at 3,637 points with -0.15%, and the mid-cap FTSEM is at 2,327 points with -0.04%.

In general, trading continues uneventfully, with investors showing no interest in the upward turn in European indices and banks setting the tone for another day, this time with a downward turn.

In the rotation of blue chips yesterday, OTE and Motor Oil stood out with gains of more than 2.5%, while now attention is gradually turning to the half-year results, with Metlen opening the curtain on the FTSE on Thursday.

Internationally, technology came back into the spotlight after Joe Biden withdrew from seeking a second presidential term, with Vice President Kamala Harris apparently taking the Democratic nomination, casting doubt on Donald Trump's comeback that seemed almost certain until recently.

There were cautious moves and bias swings in banks today, with ETE marginally positive and Alpha slightly down, while Eurobank is now -0.7% and Piraeus -1%.

Attempting to provide upward momentum is Motor Oil, which continues strongly up for a fourth day, currently at +1.4%, with PPC close to +1.3% having left the dividend cut behind and Metlen providing support to the market at +0.9%.

Beyond that, however, Ellaktor continues down around -1% today after cutting its dividend return yesterday (-18.99%), Cenergy is down -0.8% and Coca-Cola is down -0.65%.
