Tender for Kalamata airport enters final straight

By the end of the year, the investor for Kalamata airport is to be selected, with bids expected to be submitted to the Hellenic Republic Asset Development Fund by October 11. 

In detail, by this date, the four bidders who have expressed an interest are invited to submit their financial offers for Kalamata airport: 

  • GEK Terna, GMR Airports,
  • Mytilineos, Corporation America Airports,
  • Egis Airport, Aktor Concessions and Aéroports de la Côte d'Azur
  • Fraport AG, Delta Airport Investments and Peleas 

The tender provides for the concession of Kalamata International Airport for 40 years, and, subject to the approval of the auditing conference, infrastructure investments at the airport can begin as early as next year. 

It is noted that passenger traffic at Kalamata airport has soared by 250% since 2010, and in 2022 it exceeded 351,000 passengers. The target is now that by 2030, the airport aims to reach 500,000 passengers.
