The offer of the consortium Fraport-Delta Airport Investments-Pileas (Konstantakopoulos Group) for the concession of Kalamata Airport has been accepted, as announced by the Minister of Economy and Finance, Kostis Hatzidakis, speaking at the GrowthFund Summit 2024 conference.
The minister referred to an "extremely advantageous offer much higher than the independent valuation" and added that the GrowthFund's proceeds from the transaction will amount to €71.2 million, of which €45 million is the concession advance.
It is recalled that in the tender for the concession of the right to administer, manage, operate, develop, expand, maintain and exploit Kalamata International Airport, "Captain Vass. Konstantakopoulos', one bid was submitted.
The main objective of the GrowthFund, through the concession of Kalamata Airport, is the implementation of a series of investments integrated in a comprehensive business plan for the expansion and upgrading of the airport infrastructure and the provision of a combination of high-quality operation and maintenance services for the airport.
As noted by Mr. Hatzidakis, the Fraport-Delta Airport Investments-Pileas consortium is committed to investing 28.3 million euros in the first 3 years, with immediate priority for the renovation of existing infrastructure. The priorities for the future will be a new terminal and the expansion of existing infrastructure in order to enable an increase in passenger traffic.
