With corporate results boosting investor sentiment, the stock exchange is attempting to move upwards for the first time this week, while international sentiment remains positive. Specifically, the General Index moves at 1,466 points with a gain of 0.4% and turnover at 7 million euros, while 1.6 million pieces have been traded.

In domestic news, Piraeus announced before the opening a record quarterly profitability record of 333 million euros, while after the close, Eurobank takes its turn with its own figures, followed tomorrow by National Bank and on Friday Alpha. Titanas also moved at a strong pace, reporting net profit up 34.1% in the half-year.

PICTURE ON BOARD

Piraeus is setting the pace in trading after its "explosive" figures, having turned over more than 2 million already in the first half hour with a 1.75% gain at 3.83 euros.

The rest of the sector moves with little change, with Alpha and Ethnik marginally up to +0.3%, while Eurobank posts small losses.

The market receives a strong boost from "heavy" Coca-Cola, which is up 2%, while Titanas also gains 1.25%, looking forward to a new all-time high, with HELPE also up +1%.

On the other hand, OTE, PPC, and OPAP are slightly down with losses of up to 0.4%, and Metlen retreats by 0.7%. In the lower strata, Ekter moves +1.3% and Dimand +1%.
