The Athens Stock Exchange is moving cautiously upwards today (5/9), with investors engaging in selective positioning, continuing the effort to diversify from abroad.
Specifically, in the 4th session of the week, the General Index rose slightly by 0.48% to 1,442.91 points, gaining seven points compared to Wednesday's close (1,435.79 points).
Alpha's shares are up +1.31% and 1.5795 euros, Eurobank's shares follow at +0.99% and 2.05 euros, National Bank's shares trade at +0.57% and 7.786 euros, while Piraeus' shares rise +0.53% and 3.995 euros.
In the high-cap index (+0.74% and 3,509 points), Jumbo shares make a mini-rally of +3.8% and 23.8 euros, with investors welcoming share buybacks. Shares of Viohalco, PPC and Motor Oil also show gains of 1%, with the latter attempting again to break the 22 euro barrier. On the flip side, after a strong reaction, Sarantis shares retreat to -1.8% and 10.5 euros.
As for the mid-cap index (+0.15% and 2,338 points), AVAX's share tries to stand out at +0.9% and 1.39 euros, while Profile's share follows at +0.7% and 5 euros. Dimand's shares are also up 0.7%. On the other hand, Austriacard's share is limited to -1% and 5.8 euros, while the share of Techniki Olympiaki slides to -2% and 2.4 euros.
