The accommodation and catering sectors continued to move upwards in the second quarter of the year, according to ELSTAT data.

The total turnover in the accommodation sector in the second quarter of 2024 amounted to €2,81 billion euros, an increase of 10.7% compared to the second quarter of 2023, which was €2,54 euros.

For all enterprises in the catering services sector, turnover in the second quarter of 2024 was €2,55 billion, an increase of 5.8% compared to the second quarter of 2023, when it was €2,41 euros.

For enterprises in the Accommodation sector of the Regional Units with a contribution to the total turnover of the year 2023 of more than 1%, the largest increase in turnover in the second quarter of 2024 compared to the second quarter of 2023 was observed in the Regional Unit of Halkidiki (20.4%), the smallest increase (2.9%) was recorded in the Regional Unit of Thessaloniki, and the largest decrease was recorded in the Regional Unit of Mykonos (12.1%).

For enterprises in the catering services sector, the largest increase in turnover in the second quarter of 2024 compared to the second quarter of 2023 was observed in the Regional Unit of Halkidiki (25.2%), the smallest increase (0.5%) was recorded in the Regional Unit of Ioannina, and the largest decrease was recorded in the Regional Unit of Mykonos (7.4%).
