Tenders for projects with a total budget of €4.3 billion  were awarded by the Strategic Significance Contracts Unit of the Hellenic Republic Asset Development Fund (TAIPED) following a decision of the Governmental Committee for Strategic Projects.

Of particular importance is the project for the establishment of the Modernization Fund established by the European Commission in 2021 in the context of the EU's goal of climate neutrality by 2050. Its purpose will be both to fulfil the country's obligations and to manage the corresponding available resources of the fund for carbonisation actions. It is financed from the revenues of the EU Emissions Trading Scheme (ETS) and initial resources will come from the auctioning of 19.4 million allowances estimated at €1.32 billion. The Fund is expected to become operational in the third quarter of 2024.

Another fund, the Decarbonization Fund, is being set up to finance actions for the decarbonisation of Greek islands, such as electricity interconnection projects, electrification infrastructure for docked ships, electric vehicle charging, renewable sources, etc. With a timeline for action implementation from the third quarter of 2024 to the fourth quarter of 2030, the auctioning of €25 million allowances under the ETS, currently valued at €1.5 billion, will fund the Decarbonization Fund.

The Hellenic Republic Asset Development Fund and the technical member of the Hellenic Technical Committee decided to increase the budget for the OAKA upgrade by 65,690,296 in order to carry out the necessary interventions for the structural sufficiency of the Central Stadium and the Cycling Track, bringing the overall cost of the project to €110 million.

The project for the modernisation and strengthening of the Hellenic Police with a budget of 650.478.592 has a budget of 650.478.592 with supplies for the reinforcement of technical and operational equipment (vehicles, floating equipment, drones, thermal cameras, electronic equipment for the Border Protection Directorate, etc. ), new technologies (development of the Integrated Border Information System, electronic surveillance system, etc.), building infrastructure and actions to prevent and combat criminal activity (use of new technologies to combat drug trafficking, investigation of economic crime, upgrading of the fingerprint recognition and identification system).

An amount of 110 million is foreseen for interventions to modernise, improve and upgrade port infrastructure and services in Agios Nikolaos of Crete, Katapola of Amorgos, Folegandros and Agios Efstratios, Agios Kirykos and Evdilos of Ikaria, Fourni, Antikythera, Kamariotissa of Samothrace, Megisti of Kastelorizo, Lipsi, Othon's Avlakia, Mathraki at the port of Agios Stefanos Avliotes, Sfakia and Paleochora.

A tender is also envisaged for the development of an integrated forest management system in order to clean forests more effectively and reduce the risk of fire, with a budget of €8 million financed by the Green Fund. A separate project with a budget of €15 million is the Forest Ecosystem Management Studies project for the creation of a single database. Another project with a budget of EUR 200 million, which can be extended to €600, is the mountain hydrology project (AQUA MONTIS), which concerns the implementation of projects in critical areas such as Thessaly, with priority given to mountain streambeds.

A specific project is foreseen for the preparation of municipal emission and energy efficiency plans to support local authorities in meeting their carbon reduction obligations. The budget is estimated at EUR 25,557,699.
