According to "Samaras & Co.," the Hellenic Republic Asset Development Fund is planning to announce the tender for the construction of a business park in a Gonos camp, a former military facility, within the next few days.
The business plan for the construction and operation of the business park in the Gonos Camp, focusing on the supply chain and logistics, "matures" the above company as a technical consultant.
The announcement highlights that the Business Park "will be a pioneering project, which will highlight the country as a gateway to international freight transport," among other things. This is because, as mentioned, it is anticipated to open up the Greek market to the Balkans and to promote Thessaloniki and Northern Greece as a transnational hub for logistics and transit, as required by global developments, with numerous advantages for the country's economy as a whole.
It should be noted that the Hellenic Republic Asset Development Fund and GAIAOSE have decided, according to "Samaras & Co. SA, Consulting Engineers," that the optimal use of the 672 acres in the former Gonou camp is to allocate them for the development, licensing, construction, operation, and maintenance of a business park under Law 4982/2022.
The purpose of the concession of the aforementioned land in the former Gonos Camp is to be used as a modern combined transport freight centre, which will serve as a host for business activities and supply chain operations.
