The Athens Stock Exchange continues its controlled decline, while investors are waiting for the critical Moody's rating, the new corporate figures, and the decisions of the central banks.

Thus, despite the positive start to September, the Greek market is trapped in an extremely narrow range of fluctuations, with 1,450 points being the short-term "ceiling.".

This is mainly reflected in the daily value of transactions, which shows the absence of investor interest capable of contributing to the effort to reach this year's "peaks" of 1,500 units.

More specifically, in the first session of the new week, the General Index recorded a slight decline of 0.27% to 1,439.22 points, losing about four points compared to Friday's close (1,443.13 points).

The arc of daily fluctuations extends to seven points (from 1,436.86 to 1,443.16 points), with the turnover of transactions hovering at just 23 million euros, of which 1.1 million euros are pre-agreed packages.

The banking index continues the stagnation of the last few days, as it is currently at -0.20% and 1,251 points, pending the decisions on the final round of disinvestment of the HFSF.

Eurobank's share is limited to -0.69% and EUR 2,016, Alpha's share is down -0.19% and EUR 1,556, Piraeus' share is strengthened to +0.35% and EUR 3,995, while NBG's share is unchanged at EUR 7.59.

In the high-cap index (-0.29% and 3,494 points), Jumbo's share, digesting last week's gains, retracts -1.9% and 24.3 euros. Shares of Elvalhalcor, Sarantis, Metlen and Lamda are also down by up to 0.9%. On the flip side, Titan Cement's shares are up +0.8% and EUR 32.1, with Hellaktor's shares following at +0.5% and EUR 2.02.

As for the mid-cap index (-0.66% and 2,319 points), Intracom shares stand out positively at +1.9% and 3.17 euros, while Kri Kri follows at +0.8% and 12.4 euros (new all-time high). On the other hand, ADMIE's share price shrinks by almost -2.5%, due to the dividend cut of 0.058 euros. Dimand, Profile, Quest, Optima and Intralot are down 1% to 2%.
