Car sales fell by 11.3% in August
New cars amount to 9,040 compared to 10,936 circulated in August 2023, showing a decrease of 17.3%.

A decrease of 11.3% recorded sales of cars in the country in August this year, as, according to ELSTAT, in this month, 15,438 cars (new or used foreign) were released for the first time against 17.395 circulated in the corresponding month of 2023 (an increase of 8.3% was shown in August 2023 compared to the corresponding month of 2022). New cars amount to 9,040 compared to 10,936 circulated in August 2023, showing a decrease of 17.3%.

In the 8-month period, 172,757 cars (new or used foreign) were circulated for the first time compared to 165,130 circulated in the corresponding period of 2023, showing an increase of 4.6% (an increase of 11.9% was recorded in the 8-month period of 2023 compared to the corresponding period of 2022). New cars amounted to 106,399 compared to 100,684 circulated in the 8-month period of 2023, showing an increase of 5.7%.

At the same time, 6,326 new motorcycles over 50 cc (new and used foreign) were released in August compared to 5,699 in the same month of 2023, showing an increase of 11% (an increase of 26.3% had been shown in August 2023 compared to the same month of 2022). New motorcycles totaled 6,027 compared to 5,414 registered in August 2023, an increase of 11.3%.

In the 8-month period, 58,416 new motorcycles of over 50 cc (new and used foreign) were released compared to 49,715 released in the same period in 2023, an increase of 17.5% (an increase of 13.8% was recorded in the 8-month period of 2023 compared to the same period in 2022). New motorcycles totaled 55,539 compared to 47,081 motorcycles registered in the 8 months of 2023, an increase of 18%.
