The implementation of Vodafone Greece's investment plan for the deployment of modern broadband networks continues at an accelerated pace, aiming at upgrading the connectivity of households and businesses across the country.

It is recalled that the €1 billion investment program, which will be completed within the next five years, includes both the expansion of the fibre-optic infrastructure and the continued development of the 5G network, whose population coverage already exceeds 90%.

Specifically with regard to fibre infrastructure, Vodafone Greece will have deployed more than 300,000 fibre to the home (FTTH) lines by the end of December 2024, while by 2025 the fibre to the home network will be commercially available in 500,000 homes. In the longer term, the target of deploying 850,000 FTTH lines by 2028 remains.

To date, a proprietary fibre optic network has been built and put into commercial operation, already providing broadband services in Athens, Piraeus, Thessaloniki, Patras, Veroia, Ioannina, Kozani, and Volos. By December 2024, new extensions will be completed and activated at the Areos Stadium in Athens, Piraeus, Kozani, Ap. Pavlos in Thessaloniki, and Pelopos in Patras.

It is recalled that Fiber2All, a wholly owned subsidiary of Vodafone Greece, was established in September 2023 precisely for the purpose of accelerating the development of the fiber optic network in response to the ever-increasing demand for high internet speeds. The new company is dedicated to the design, construction, and wholesale of Vodafone's fibre optic infrastructure, focusing on the transformation of the network with even greater flexibility and autonomy in decision-making and comprising the most qualified human resources.
