The Hellenic Republic Asset Development Fund announces that three business groups have expressed interest in the tender for the development of the National Ski Centre of Vasilitsa (NSCC), with a concession contract, covering a total area of approximately 6,200 hectares, located in the mountains "Vasilitsa" and "Balduma" of the National Park of Northern Pindos, in the Regional Units of Grevena and Ioannina.
In particular, the following have expressed interest (in alphabetical order):
- Γ. MACHARIDOU & Co. S.A. Trade of Special Machinery Ski Resort Management Services (under the distinctive title ECO-TECH).
- MY ADVENTURE—TZOUMAKAS.
- UCERT ONE-PERSON COMPANY.
Phase A of the competition will be concluded with the evaluation of the submitted Expression of Interest files and the pre-selection of the candidates who will proceed to Phase B, which consists of the submission of binding financial offers.
The tender conducted by the Hellenic Republic Asset Development Fund on behalf of the Greek State is the first attempt to develop the Hellenic Ski Resort in cooperation with private investors and the first attempt to develop a ski resort in Greece with a concession contract. The preferred investor will take over the right to use, operate, manage, and exploit the ski resort for at least 25 years. The aim is to make it an attractive mountain tourism pole, encouraging gentle tourism development throughout the year and strengthening the regional economy.
The property is in a particularly privileged position due to its proximity to Thessaloniki, Grevena, and Ioannina, as well as important cultural attractions such as Meteora and the archaeological site of Vergina. Moreover, it has easy road access due to its connection with the Egnatia Odos and is 130 km from Ioannina airport and 213 km from Thessaloniki airport, attracting visitors from all over Greece and Southeastern Europe.
The National Ski Centre of Vasilitsa has seven (7) ski lifts installed, which serve the eighteen (18) existing downhill ski runs, including two beginners' runs.
