The Athens Stock Exchange ended today's trading session in positive territory in a session with a very small range of fluctuation and relatively low turnover.
For another day, investors maintained a wait-and-see attitude ahead of the Fed's verdict on Wednesday regarding interest rates, while the positive outlook from Moody's did not give much of a boost today.
At the close of the session, the general index ended the trading session with a gain of 0.31% at 1,423 points, with turnover at 72.725 million and trading volume at 17.573 million pieces.
The FTSE high-cap index gained 0.28% to 3,450 while its mid-cap counterpart, FTSEM, closed marginally positive at 2,313.
The banking index gained 0.68%. Alpha Bank (+2.62%), ETE (+1.07%) and Eurobank (+0.23%) recorded gains. On the flip side, Piraeus lost 0.7%. The optics remained unchanged.
In the high capitalization, Autohellas gained 1.82%, while Lamda (+1.72%), Titan (+1.26%) and Coca-Cola (+0.73%) recorded gains. On the flip side, PPC lost 1.07%. In the mid-cap sector, KPI KPI recorded significant gains of 4.84% and ADMIE gained 2.97%.
In corporate news, the KRI-KRI milk industry saw its turnover in the first half of 2024 stand at €130.87m compared to €112.97m in 2023 (up 15.8%). Operating profit (EBITDA) stood at €29.44m compared to €28.72m in 2023. Profit before tax amounted to €27.05 million, compared to €26.18 million in 2023.
